Saphlux Showcased NPQD Products at Display Week 2023

Los Angeles, CA, May 25th, 2023 - At Display Week 2023 held by Society for Information Display (SID), Saphlux showcased three latest NPQD products and demos including the 162” 4K direct-emitting QLED display, the R1-0406 micro-LED chip, and the T1-0.39” micro-displays.

162” 4K Direct-emitting QLED Display

In collaboration with Leyard, Saphlux announced the 162” 4K direct-emitting QLED display. The display is with 3840*2160 resolution, a 15000:1 contrast ratio, up to 1000 nits brightness, and a 0.9mm pitch size. It is the first pixel LED display product on the market that is equipped with the direct-emitting QD micro-LED chip - the NPQD R1 series. By incorporating quantum dots into micro-LED chips, this 162” display provides a unified 150-degree viewing angle for R-G-B colors, a broader color gamut, and exceptional 0.2nm red color uniformity. The display product has passed a series of reliability tests including lit-up and high temperature/humidity tests, and is now ready for the market.

NPQD 0.39” Micro-display Demo

Low efficiency and color shift of red micro-LEDs has long been a bottleneck for micro-display development. To address this issue, Saphlux demonstrated the first NPQD 0.39” micro-display in collaboration with Innovation. For as small as a 2um sub-pixel size, the NPQD conversion technology can reach up to 39% blue to red power conversion efficiency. It also displays a stable wavelength at various current densities.

R1-0406 Micro-LED Chips

Designed for fine-pitch displays, the R1 series integrated the best color conversion material, quantum dots, and cutting-edge display technology, micro-LED, into one monolithic chip. The R1 series is now available in red in the wavelength of 625nm to 630nm, and can be customized to different wavelengths between 500nm to 1000nm.

Furthermore, Dr. Chen Chen, CEO of Saphlux, delivered a speech titled "A High-Efficiency Full-Color Monolithic Micro-LED Display for AR/MR/VR Applications Using NPQD Technology" at the Quantum Dots and Micro-displays session of the Exhibitors Forum. Saphlux's participation at the SID exhibition showed our dedication and commitment to technological innovations in the fields of quantum dot converted micro-LEDs.
