Saphlux Launches “Quantum Black Crystal,” Unlocking a New Level of Deep-Black Display Performance
At CIOE 2026, Saphlux presented a major upgrade to its quantum-dot display lineup with the debut of a new product developed on its flagship QD Plus platform. The new product, QD Plus Ultimate Black, made its first public appearance at the show and was officially launched as “Quantum Black Crystal.” With its exceptional black-level performance, Quantum Black Crystal brings a differentiated module solution to the commercial large-screen display market.

In the display industry, deep and pure blacks have long been an important benchmark for large-screen image quality. However, many display products still struggle with blacks appearing gray and a lack of detail in dark scenes. Powered by Saphlux’s proprietary NPQD® nanoporous quantum-dot R-series red-emitting chip technology, “Quantum Black Crystal” retains the strengths of the QD Plus series while addressing the challenges of dark-scene display performance, achieving a significant leap in black-level performance.

Beyond its breakthrough deep-black performance, “Quantum Black Crystal” also retains the comprehensive image quality advantages of QD Plus quantum-dot COB. Five core capabilities work together to deliver an enhanced visual experience for commercial large-screen displays.
1. High Contrast: Immersive Contrast Between Light and Dark
Powered by NPQD® nanoporous quantum-dot R-series red-emitting chips and a new black-level optimization process, “Quantum Black Crystal” delivers an improved dynamic range. Bright areas appear clear and transparent without overexposure, while dark areas remain deep and clean without appearing gray, preserving details across both highlights and shadows. Whether displaying night scenes or dark-toned films, the visuals appear more dimensional and immersive.
2. High Brightness: Clear Images Under Strong Ambient Lighting
High brightness and uniform light output help reduce the impact of exhibition spotlights and strong indoor lighting, preventing images from appearing washed out or hazy. Even under bright ambient conditions, the display remains sharp and clear, making it well suited for exhibitions, conference settings, retail spaces, and other commercial applications.
3. Wide Color Gamut: Natural and Accurate Color Reproduction
Powered by NPQD® nanoporous quantum-dot technology, “Quantum Black Crystal” achieves a cinema-grade wide color gamut with high color purity across the three primary colors. It accurately reproduces the colors of promotional videos, artistic imagery, and real-world footage, while maintaining natural color transitions and reducing color shifts and color overflow. This enables the display to meet the color requirements of professional commercial display applications.
4. Wide Viewing Angles: Consistent Image Quality from Multiple Positions
With an optimized quantum-dot COB optical-path design, “Quantum Black Crystal” provides wide viewing angles in both horizontal and vertical directions, reducing brightness loss and color shift when viewed from the side. In multi-viewer environments such as exhibition halls, auditoriums, and command centers, the display maintains a balanced viewing experience from both front and side angles, making it well suited for complex commercial spaces.
5. Excellent Color Consistency: A Seamless Full-Screen Viewing Experience
Through end-to-end control across chips, quantum-dot materials, and module calibration, “Quantum Black Crystal” minimizes variations in brightness and chromaticity both within and between modules. When modules are assembled into a large-screen display, there are no noticeable brightness discontinuities or color-block boundaries. Replacement modules can also achieve seamless color matching, helping reduce maintenance costs while maintaining stable and uniform image quality over time.
Whether displaying dark-toned films, nighttime scenes, or vivid imagery, “Quantum Black Crystal” delivers clear image depth, natural color reproduction, and strong contrast between light and dark, creating a more immersive viewing experience.
From technological innovation to mass production, Saphlux continues to explore the potential of its NPQD® nanoporous quantum-dot technology. The launch of “Quantum Black Crystal” marks another product iteration in Saphlux’s quantum-dot large-screen display segment and further expands the QD Plus product portfolio. Looking ahead, Saphlux will continue to refine its quantum-dot Micro-LED display technology, iterate and upgrade its products, and deepen collaboration across the industry value chain. Through these efforts, Saphlux aims to deliver more high-performance, mass-producible next-generation display solutions and contribute to the continued advancement of the display industry.
